There are five beach competitions held each year as club events.
These are organized by the shore secretary the winner getting a trophy.
We try to have a barbi on the beach when the weather allows.
The club is also hoping to enter members into team events held by other associations in the future.

There are also competitions for the best Cod each year
The best specimen fish overall each year
The biggest Conger each year
The best Bass each year
The best specimen caught boat fishing each year
There is also a league where all members fishing are able to score points at the end of the year the member with the most points wins a prize.
Every year a weekend away is organized for those who want to go.
1998 was at Exmouth when a 95lb eel was captured. This was fish of the month in the B.C.C. Book.
1999 Was at Plymouth when Doug Redman gained third place in the
B.C.C. Individual championships.
Phil Allan also captured a specimen Scad during this weekend.
2000 Was at Dartmouth which was a roaring success.
Fishing three teams in the affiliated club conger championships.
Members Pete Brennan and Steve Anstey not only drank the pub dry
they gained 2nd place in the teams with Pete gaining 2nd in the individuals.
2001 The club has entered a team in the B.C.F.S.A. Boat competition.
Stu Bridgeman and Jason Brennan gained a commendable fourth team place.
Stu finished 4th in the individuals and Jason 9th.
This was a great result for the first attempt in avey tough competition.
Two teams entered in the BRITISH CONGER CHAMPIONSHIPS 2001
Also seven individuals attempted to win the British Conger Championship title.
The team was unlucky this year just missing out on the prizes but we are confident
for next year.
