This year Phil Allan travelled to Florida Keys.
At the British Conger Championships this year
Phil was lucky enough to be fishing alongside Geoff Flores ( B.C.C President),
who gave him many tips. Geoff also passed on the names of some skippers
to contact. The information was put to good use. Although the skipper was
skeptical about going after Bonefish as this was Phils first time the end result was.
- 6lb Bone fish. This was the heaveist caught by a european so the skipper
and Phil were well pleased.
- Bonnett shark.
- Grey Snapper.
September Tony Irwin and Phillip Morris went to Crete.
They managed to show the locals how to catch the Garfish which were plentifull
around the harbour rocks, using bubble floats and small ragworm.
The strange thing they found was that they were able
to buy ragworm locally although it was imported from Korea.
Anyone wanting information on bait or fishing in Crete contact Tony via
g-mail
Tony also caught a local delecasy type fish using a shrimp lure.
Not quite sure of the spelling but called a loobacca.
This fish although only just over 2.5lbs fought like crazy and took about
10 minutes to land on the very light tackel used.
In the gallery we have a new picture Phil Mackie With a 53lb Salmon he caught whilst
on holiday in Canada.
